The A414 Chelmsford to Harlow works involved an on-and-off carriageway intrusive ground investigation and pavement investigation to assist in the redesign, modification and widening of the carriageway
Site Investigation Value: £77,700

Site works comprised:
– Full utility clearance and surveying of locations and services
– 2No Boreholes using a dynamic windowless sampling rig
– 12No. Concrete coring locations
– 12No. Dynamic cone penetrometer tests
– 6No. Hand excavated slit trial pits to identify services
– Logging of windowless sampler boreholes in accordance with BS5930:2015
– Logging of road cores
– Chemical Laboratory Analysis
– Geotechnical Laboratory Analysis
– Onsite PAH testing
– Factual Reporting
– Pavement investigation reporting
Soils Limited’s in-house surveying team carried out a full GPR survey of the embankments in order to locate a service that was reported on the STATS plans but was not found within any of the slit trenches. This survey resulted in additional potential target being identified.
