Cemetery Appraisals

Soils Limited can prepare a hydrogeological appraisal for the development and extension of cemeteries.

In accordance with Environment Agency guidance, and consultation with all stakeholders, Soils Limited can prepare a hydrogeological appraisal for the development and extension of cemeteries. This comprises a Tiered Groundwater Risk Assessment following a source-pathway-receptor approach and development of a conceptual site model (CSM).

-Tier 1 – Desk based qualitative risk assessment including review of ground and groundwater conditions, and likely receptors

– Tier 2 – Basic site investigation, review of aquifer characteristics from available published data and basic quantitative risk assessment

– Tier 3 – Comprehensive site investigation, long-term monitoring and detailed quantitative risk assessment

Each stage is undertaken as required, with the CSM updated accordingly, to assess the potential risk posed by the development.

In consultation with the Environment Agency, Local Authority and the Client, Soils Limited can develop a safe and practical approach to the cemetery development, whilst protecting controlled waters and other environmental receptors.
